Edward Goodfellow, born and raised in Victoria B.C., completed a double major in accounting and finance from the University of Lethbridge in 1990. He completed his articles and obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1993. Edward has completed numerous Canadian Securities courses; Canadian Investment Management (CIM) parts I and II, Options course, Futures Course and received his Fellowship of the Canadian Securities Industry (FCSI) in 1997. In 1999 Edward completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and in 2001 he completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the worlds most recognized finance designation.

Edward worked with the international accounting firm KPMG from 1990 to 1996. He spent three years in Victoria, B.C. and three years in Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles. Edward worked as an investment advisor with RBC Dominion Securities from 1996 until 2002 and was a portfolio manager with Phillips Hager North from 2002 to 2004. He worked as an investment advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy from 2004 to 2008. In the fall of 2008 Edward moved to PI Financial Corp. to balance out his time between teaching, portfolio research and a growing list of retail and institutional portfolio clients. Edward’s teaching and his client work are heavily influenced by the research conducted by Eugene Fama and the research and investment management firm Dimensional Fund Advisors.

Edward began his formal teaching career at Camosun College in 2004. He was invited to participate as a marker for the 2005 and 2006 uniform final exam (final exam for the Chartered Accountants). In 2007, Edward began teaching corporate and investment finance at Royal Roads University.

Edward lives in Metchosin B.C. on a farm down by Taylor Beach with his wife Anita, five daughters, five horses and three dogs.
