Dr. Farhangi brings to Royal Roads more than 23 years of experience in private sector engineering and management of advanced technology development and product engineering.

He has extensive management, marketing and business development experience in the hi-tech sector and has successfully planned and managed many technology startups in North America and Asia. He has managed technology transfer, VC funding and government grants. He has extensive organizational skills in planning and management of advanced research and development and product development centers in Europe, Canada, U.S.A. and Asia. He currently serves as the CTO (chief technology officer) for BBS Group of companies.

Dr. Farhangi's academic experience includes various teaching, consulting and adjunct appointments with local and overseas universities. His most recent academic appointment was with the Technical University of British Columbia in Vancouver (now part of SFU), where he served for four years as professor of Information Technology and dean of Academic Operations.

Dr. Farhangi is a member of Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEG), and a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
