Lane Sherman is the team coach in the Faculty of Management. He works in both the Bachelor of Commerce and MBA programs. Prior to accepting the position at Royal Roads he worked for the Justice Institute of B.C. as a part of the instructional staff in the Center for Dispute Resolution. Lane is a trained Mediator and has worked for many years as a private consultant specializing in group-facilitation and change leadership. Lane has owned and operated his own small business, worked as a manager for a major multinational company, and studied Business Administration at Pierce College in California.

As a group facilitator Lane has worked with organizations such as the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Ministry of Environment, First Nations treaty negotiation teams, Provincial Government treaty negotiation teams, MacMillan Bloedel, The CRD, Fairfield Community Association, and many more. Lane has also sat as board member and chair of committees in a volunteer capacity for local non-profit organizations.

Lane’s primary interest is in group development and organizational change. As a business owner, sales manager and facilitator for a wide range of organizations he has had the opportunity to observe organizational dynamics across many different sectors. This diversity of perspective allows Lane to offer unique insight into how groups function and paths to improvement.

Lane is an avid outdoorsman and has coached volleyball, basketball, and softball teams. He has two children whom he drives to soccer games nearly every weekend.
