E-mail: michelle [dot] clement [at] royalroads [dot] caMichelle has 20 years of marketing experience in the service sectors of both business and government. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Victoria and then worked in public relations and communications as well as Protocol for the BC Government. After a few years working in the public system, in 1992, Michelle jumped into the world of private industry and a position with Procter & Gamble. Working for one of the world’s largest marketing firms for over 13 years has allowed Michelle to undertake unique opportunities and projects. During this time, Michelle completed her Masters of Business degree from the University of Victoria specializing in marketing.
As well, Michelle has dabbled in the world of non-profits, sitting on the boards of the Cohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) and the Osteoporosis Society of Canada (OSC). Working within the budget constraints of not-for-profit associations, provided her with opportunities to market creatively and without big corporate borders.
At the MBA level, she has been instructing at RRU for seven years now. Michelle developed EX680 (Services Marketing) and has taught this course as well as MB520 (Market Management) both distance learning and face-to-face. Michelle also instructs at the undergraduate and graduate degree programs at Camosun College and the University of Canada West both located in Victoria. Michelle participates in MB695, the Organizational Consulting Project (OCP) course, and enjoys working one-on-one with learners. A sample of the OCP projects she have advised follows: Cambian e-business software, Thirdwave Bus Services, PRT Forest Seedling Nurseries, Wolf Medical Systems, Triton Logging, Tourism for the Northwest Territories, Vancouver Island Credit Unions, Van Isle Marina and the Professional Coaching Association.
On a personal note, Michelle’s greatest passion lies with her family—her son and daughter. She usually completes two sprint triathlons in the summer months and likes kickboxing and hockey in the winter.
